Born in France and raised in northern Nevada, Linda Williams spent her early years either riding horses, hiking, camping, or reading and drawing. The daughter of a rancher and a librarian, those things just came naturally.
With a love for nature and medicine, Linda completed degrees in Biology and Microbiology before going into research. She worked for NASA for many years before heeding the call of science writing and speaking. With four children asking increasingly inquisitive questions about nature, biology, and the world in general, she learned how to share her love of science in plain English.
Following her successful first book, Chemistry Demystified, Linda began making speaking appearances at area elementary, intermediate, and high schools. She shares her enthusiasm for science, space, medicine, and nanotechnology along with encouraging students to work hard and enjoy discovering how the natural world works.
Most recently, Linda founded the Science Cafe in Little Rock, AR. Check it out! www.sciencecafelr.com

Williams' first book, Chemistry Demystified, was one of the first four books in McGraw-Hill's inaugural DeMystified series. Since then, she has gone on to write additional books in the extremely popular Science DeMystified series receiving excellent reviews (see various bookseller sites) for her books' easy-to-read science explanations and conversational tone.
Williams is currently working on the 2nd edition of Chemistry Demystified with all new quiz and test questions as well as the latest chemistry findings and discoveries. Watch for McGraw-Hill's release of the updated Chemistry Demystified edition due out later this year.
